Holwell is made by British Millerain, a company that dates back to the days when goods were transported using wind-powered ships. Their sails were made of cotton that was waxed to protect against the ravages of the sea; the material subsequently found its way into the clothing that sailors wore to protect themselves from the same weather. With respect for the material's heritage, Oxford's designers used traditional stitching methods to assemble the outer garment. For example, the pockets are gathered so they can lie flat when empty, yet provide room to expand when full. The collar and accompanying (detachable) belt are designed and cut in 3 dimensions, not as simple flat panels; the resulting shape is simply perfect. The labour-intensive triple stitching, used in all key and critical impact areas, is pleasing to the eye while being highly protective. Inside there is a breathable membrane for greater weather protection and the classic Oxford lining. The collar has a rolled neoprene finish and corduroy on the inside, as do the cuffs, which increases the level of comfort. At the front there is a large YKK No10 zip, hand pockets and a short connecting zip for adding trousers. The new Oxford Heritage press studs are also included. Standard equipment for back protection of your choice is a matter of course (Oxford Level 2 OB101 protector) along with CE Level 1 shoulder and elbow protectors. The entire jacket is CE approved to Level A. Description and parameters
