Maxima DOT 4 is a brake and clutch fluid for hydraulic brakes and clutches. It resists the vapour bubbles that make the lever spongy and protects the inside of the system against corrosion. It meets DOT 3 and DOT 4. DOT 4 fluid absorbs moisture from the air, so change it every one to two years. Do not mix it with silicone DOT 5, and keep it off paint, which it attacks.
